    08/04/2026 | 51min
Jimbo is joined by Art De Roché, Liam Twomey and Daniel Storey to discuss Tuesday night's Champions League action.

Bayern beat Real Madrid 2-1 in an end to end encounter at the Bernabéu. It could have been more for Bayern and yet Mbappe could have got a hat-trick too, with both teams racking up 20 shots each. Are Bayern the team to beat? Is Harry Kane the best in the world?

Meanwhile in Lisbon, Arsenal fought hard against an impressive Sporting Clube to earn a revitalising away win in the Estádio José Alvalade, via a stoppage time goal made by two substitutes Martinelli and Havertz. How big a difference did David Raya make?

Plus an EFL roundup, Ramsey retires, Mudryk trains and a tribute to Mircea Lucescu.

Produced by Charlie Jones and Jesse Howard.

A stoppage time winner for Mallorca against Real Madrid means Barcelona are seven points clear at the top of La Liga, after they came from behind to win 2-1 at Atletico.

In Italy, there’s a statement win at the top for Inter as they beat Roma 5-2 and further reaction to the Azzurri failing to qualify for a third World Cup in a row. PSG’s lead at the top of Ligue 1 stretches to four points after Lens lose 3-0 in Lille.

And in Germany, Bayern Munich also grab a late winner and there’s a nine-goal thriller between Leverkusen and Wolfsburg.

Arsenal stunned by Saints as Liverpool get stuffed by City

    05/04/2026 | 56min
Jimbo, Daniel Storey and Tom Williams reflect on a captivating FA Cup quarter-final weekend.

It’s back-to-back defeats for Arsenal, overcome by a sensational Southampton from the Championship on Saturday. With their trophy hopes halved in the last two matches, is this the start of a dramatic collapse for the Gunners?

Can the same question be asked of Liverpool, who are thrashed 4-0 by Man City, with Erling Haaland taking home the match ball? The pressure piling on Arne Slot ahead of the Reds’ trip to PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday.

West Ham stage an incredible comeback against Leeds but it’s Daniel Farke’s side who progress on penalties to a first FA Cup semi since 1987. Where they will meet Chelsea, who pummel Port Vale 7-0 at Stamford Bridge.

It’s also a big weekend in the EFL with Millwall moving into the automatic promotion places in the Championship. What would the Lions bring to the Premier League? Nick Hart from the Achtung Millwall podcast can tell us.

    Produced by Charlie Jones

    RUNNING ORDER:
    • PART 1: West Ham 2-2 Leeds - Leeds win on pens (01:30)
    • PART 2: Southampton 2-1 Arsenal (11:30)
    • PART 3a: Man City 4-0 Liverpool (28:00)
    • PART 3b: Chelsea win 7-0 but let’s talk Enzo (39:00)

Totally Extra: Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle, 30 years on

    04/04/2026 | 1h 19min
Jimbo is joined by Duncan Alexander, Charlie Eccleshare and George Caulkin to open up the Totally Extra almanac to exactly 30 years ago, on the Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle page.

The Magpies were the great entertainers with the exuberant Kevin Keegan at the helm and much of the country pulling for them to take the title. Their title challengers Man Utd had famously been told by Alan Hansen they couldn't win anything with kids.

With Fergie's fledglings finding form, a wobbling Newcastle went to Anfield and vowed to play the only way they knew how, to attack; the likes of Beardsley, Ginola, Asprilla and Ferdinand up against Fowler, Collymore, Barnes and McManaman.

What ensued is still for many the greatest ever Premier League game. What made it so special? And how different might have football been if Newcastle had won it in 1996?

Plus what else happened this week in football history and a brain-teasing quiz question.

Produced by Charlie Jones, Lucy Oliva & Jesse Howard.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1a: Why this game was so special (0.40)
    • PART 1b: A 4-3 related quiz question (06.20)
    • PART 2a: The Totally Extra Almanac (08.10)
    • PART 2b: The Premiership in 1996 (11.10)
    • PART 3: Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle (32.51)
    • PART 4: The run in and the rant (55.01)
    • PART 5a: What cost Toon the title? (1.03.00)
    • PART 5b: This game's legacy (1.07.30)
    • PART 5c: The answer to the quiz question (1.17.15)

Italy’s heartbreak, Potter’s redemption - and City v Liverpool in the FA Cup

    02/04/2026 | 1h 4min
Jimbo is back in the chair and joined by Duncan Alexander, Adrian Clarke, Natalie Gedra, with special guest Frida Fagerlund as the final six teams to play at this year’s World Cup are confirmed.

It’s disaster yet again for Italy after penalty heartbreak in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The Azzurri become the first ever former winners to miss three World Cups in a row. Where do they go from here?

There’s shootout joy for Czech Republic though who beat Denmark, Sweden see off Poland and Turkey are heading to the World Cup for the first time in 24 years after winning in Kosovo.

DR Congo and Iraq are also through to the group stages, and there’s another disappointing performance from England at Wembley.

Plus, it’s FA Cup Quarter Final weekend with Man City hosting Liverpool as domestic football returns.

    RUNNING ORDER:

Part 1: World Cup Qualifying results (2:45)
Part 2A: Bosnian bliss and Italian misery (7:00)
Part 2B: Czech ecstasy and Turkish delight (18:30)
    Part 3A: Potter's wizardry for Sweden (27:50)
    Part 3B: DR Congo & Iraq (35:00)
    Part 4A: England v Japan (42:20)
    Part 4B: USA & Brazil (51:30)
Part 5A: De Zerbi at Spurs (58:00)
Part 5B: FA Cup preview (1:01:30)
