- Our next guests are responsible for changing the sound of film/TV music production in a fascinating way. In a world where most composers rely on software instruments and plugins to get the job done, these 2 composer/producers have opted to record more hardware synths, interesting audio performances, and focus on processing their sounds in interesting ways. Their work can be heard on Ozark, Black Rabbit, Tulsa King, Opus, and many more projects and I'm so excited to welcome them on to the podcast!
And the composers are... Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans
Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. - Our next guest is an incredibly talented composer, producer, music director, percussionist, and much more and I'm so excited to chat with him about his work on Good Guy with a Gun, a musical satire album. We chat about his work as a percussionist working with artists including Ringo Starr, Hans Zimmer, David Fleming, Joseph Trapanese and more as well as his overall career.
And the composer is… Hal Rosenfeld
Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. - Our next guest is an Emmy and Grammy-nominated composer who recently scored The Boroughs, Netflix's supernatural drama from creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, executive produced by the Duffer Brothers. Set inside a seemingly perfect retirement community, the series follows a grieving newcomer whose monstrous encounter pulls him into a hidden world of danger and unlikely heroism — and its score rises to meet every moment.
He discusses what drew him to the project and how he approached building a sweeping orchestral sound rooted in the unashamed, front-and-center scoring of the '80s and early '90s. He talks about growing up on John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, and Alan Silvestri, and what it means to write in that tradition today, music that sits right alongside the performances, tied closely to character and story rather than sitting in the background.
And the composer is... John Paesano
Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. - Our next guest is one of the most distinctive voices in independent film and television scoring today. He cut his teeth bringing over 15 films to the Sundance Film Festival, went on to score critical favorites for HBO, Netflix, and the indie world, and most recently delivered a brilliantly offbeat score for A24's Friendship starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd. I’m so excited to be chatting with him today.
And the composer is... Keegan DeWitt.
Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. - Our next guest needs no introduction. He's one of my all time favorite composers and today we chat about his score for Hamnet, On The Nature Of Daylight, and SRM sounds among other topics!
And the composer is... Max Richter
