What Does it Mean to Ask For Something In Jesus Name?  John 16:  Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study

    24/12/2025 | 28min

What Does it Mean to Ask For Something In Jesus Name?  John 16:  Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study In this episode, Rachael Groll talks honestly about the ache of saying goodbye to the people we love and how that same grief sits inside the story of the disciples as Jesus prepares to leave them. She explains how Jesus doesn’t ignore their fear or sorrow but promises something better — the Holy Spirit, the One who guides, comforts, and fills us with a joy the world can’t take away. Rachael explores what it looks like to surrender our need for control so we can experience real peace in the middle of life’s trials, and she shows how relational prayer becomes the place where that peace takes root. ☆Pick up a copy of my latest book:  Knowing God’s Voice  ☆Go Deeper and Learn to Hear God’s Voice: Knowing Jesus Course ☆Get Ad-Free Episodes, Bonus Content, and more here:  patreon.com/HearingJesus John 15 ☆To Learn More About Sponsoring a Child, check out Compassion International here: ➤  Sponsor a Child ☆Go on a trip with Rachael: Bible Study Live ☆Have a question for Rachael? How Pruning Seasons Prepare Us: John 15:1-11 : Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study

    22/12/2025 | 24min

How Pruning Seasons Prepare Us: John 15:1-11 : Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study In this episode of the Hearing Jesus podcast, Rachael Groll teaches on the metaphor of pruning in John 15, exploring how spiritual growth requires abiding in Christ. She shares personal experiences with grapevine pruning to illustrate how God carefully shapes, refines, and removes what hinders our growth. Rachael emphasizes the relational nature of spiritual life, showing how remaining connected to Jesus produces lasting fruit, joy, and transformation. Listeners are encouraged to trust God’s pruning process, allowing Him to refine their hearts and lives for deeper growth, greater fruitfulness, and a closer walk with Him. ☆Pick up a copy of my latest book:  Knowing God’s Voice  ☆Go Deeper and Learn to Hear God’s Voice: Knowing Jesus Course ☆Get Ad-Free Episodes, Bonus Content, and more here:  patreon.com/HearingJesus ☆To Learn More About Sponsoring a Child, check out Compassion International here:  ➤  Sponsor a Child ☆Go on a trip with Rachael: Bible Study Live ☆Have a question for Rachael? The metaphor of the vine illustrates our connection to Christ. Spiritual fruit is the outcome of a life aligned with God. Abiding in Christ is a continuous, daily relationship. Pruning can feel uncomfortable but is ultimately for our good. Joy is a byproduct of our relationship with God, not circumstances. God's pruning prepares us for deeper fruitfulness. Each branch (individual) is distinct and capable of producing fruit. Our prayers reflect our alignment with God's will when we abide in Him. The process of sanctification is lifelong and involves ongoing growth.  Chapters 00:00 The Journey of Pruning and Growth 02:24 Understanding the Vine Metaphor 10:16 The Importance of Abiding in Christ 15:56 Joy and Connection in Spiritual Life 18:20 The Call to Allow Pruning for Fruitfulness Bible, Bible Study, Devotions, Devotional, Daily Devotional, Prayer, Jesus, God, Holy Spirit, Spiritual Growth, hearing God’s voice, Hearing God, Hearing Jesus, Praying, Pray, God’s Word, Scriptures Hearing Jesus, Knowing God's Voice, Female Prophets, Bible Study, Spiritual Growth, Christian Podcast, Faith Journey, Obedience, God's Communication, Personal Reflections, prophecy, faith, surrender, spiritual gifts, women's ministry, Christian podcast Learn more about your ad choices.
