Psalms for the Soul: Psalm 68: Daily Bible Study, Daily Devotional, Hearing Jesus   

Psalm 68 is sometimes called a difficult Psalm, but inside we see some of the most clear examples of what burdens God’s heart. As we study this Psalm today, my prayer is that you will recognize your own calling to care about the things God cares about: the marginalized of society, the widows, the orphan, the prisoners. We serve a God who delights in caring for those that others overlook.

Today’s Key Verse:

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing. Psalm 68:5-6a

Evangelism does not have to be complicated. In fact, it can be as simple as just telling others what God is doing in our lives. Don't allow intimidation or fear keep you from sharing your faith with those around you. God can work in and through your story to draw others to a relationship with Him.

Saturday Contemplative: The One Who Didn’t Flee

Scripture: John 8:1–11

Grace is more than forgiveness. It is a new way of living. In this episode, we sit with the story of the woman caught in adultery and the mercy of Jesus that meets her in her most exposed moment.

Where others came ready to accuse, Jesus stayed. He did not excuse sin, but He also did not define her by it. This contemplative prayer episode helps us lay down shame, condemnation, and the weight of old accusations so we can receive the grace of Christ more fully.

If you have been carrying guilt, self-condemnation, or the fear of being defined by your past, this episode is a gentle invitation to remember that Jesus does not throw stones. He stays.
