New podcast time, it’s been a bit.

Between Underground Routes and a 93 mix I haven’t played you new music since last year.

So here it is Pt.11 of the40!

Happy New Year! What better way to bring in 2026 than ..err... listening to music from over 30 years ago! But regardless, time to jump into one of the most influential years in the history of the scene, 1993.

The sound that year was defined by a shift toward faster, darker, and more complex beats. The Jungle/Drum & Bass sound embedded now. Hardcore was flying in 93 too, but we’ll get to that in Pt.2.

For this first part we have everything from Lemon D to LTJ, Scott & Keith to Studio Pressure. Snappy beats, rolling amens and a load of classics.

Since arriving on the scene in 1991 this London based producer has always been the standard for drums, bass and more bass.

Working as Dillinja x Capone x Cybertron amongst other aliases this producer's sound is unapologetic, sonically awesome and instantly recognisable.

We’ve decided to focus on our favourite time, so far, in his career, 1996 - 2001. This mix picks up tracks from this time across some of the biggest labels in the scene and includes a few game changing remixes for good measure.

Back with the40 after a slightly longer break… And to mark an ahem… significant Birthday we have 50 tunes for you!

Just about 2 hours of music, and a show dominated by 3 dubpacks. Myth’s ‘Vol3’, Break’s ‘‘Vol2’ and just to be as unique as they are The Sauce with ‘The Hot Sauce Summer Dub Pack’! Add to that the best of whatever else has been out and we have our 40 tracks.

With the other 10, I’ve had a go. I’ve picked my 10 favourite tunes of the last 35 years. Tracks from 1990 onwards - (I retain the right to change these by the time you finish reading this), but I’ve had a go.
