True Crime with Kimbyr

For more than thirty years, headlines have focused on Christa Pike. Her childhood, her appeals, her execution. But this story was never supposed to be about her! That's what she always wanted - ALL the attention, and she's STILL getting it. Colleen Slemmer is the real victim here. In January 1995, Colleen was 19 and 400 miles from home, a quiet, kind girl from Orange Park, Florida, chasing a computer certificate at the Knoxville Job Corps Center in Tennessee. She studied every night. She was there to succeed. And on a cold, wet Thursday night, she walked out of her dorm with three classmates… and never signed back in.This is the whole, real story of Colleen: who she was, what happened behind that old steam plant, the warnings nobody took seriously, and the mother who has spent three decades fighting for her daughter, piece by piece. Plus, where things stand right now, after Tennessee’s failed execution attempt made national headlines. Her name was Colleen Slemmer. Let’s make sure people remember it.

This video is for informational and commentary purposes based on public reporting and police statements. All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.18-year-old college freshman Karoline Heintz was found dead in the back of her own Jeep in Pennsylvania just days into her first semester at PennWest University. In this true crime video, I break down the case, what police bodycam footage showed when officers found her Jeep in a parking lot, how her dad tracking her AirTag led police to her, and why demons got brought up in an interview. We also look at the disturbing allegations against a mother in the alleged cover-up, from washing clothes to hiding evidence, and what the psychology and legal system tell us about this case. This is still unfolding in PA, and I’ll follow updates as it heads toward court. Follow for weekly deep dives into the behavior and psychology behind true crime cases

80’s Spotify Playlist: https://spotify.link/yjmsrGPe8Db🕯️ THIS IS A NEW SERIES! It's the debut of my Death Through The Decades series. This episode features a Halloween murder at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in the 1980s. The videos in this series go in depth about what life was like in that decade. What policing was like in the 1980s, technology (or lack thereof), and what the culture was like. I'll be diving into the 80's, 90's, and the 2000's and I've lived through all three, so I've been there! I really hope you appreciate the nostalgia and connect even more with the people who have lost their lives and are frozen in time. In October 1984, Robin Hoynes was a KFC manager in Southern California when she crossed paths with a monster.

Our second case is The Taylor Van Diest case out of Canada. On Halloween night in 2011, 18-year-old Taylor Van Diest left her home in the small, close-knit town of Armstrong, British Columbia, dressed as a zombie and buzzing with excitement, and she was meeting up with friends for one last Halloween before they all grew up. It was a short, familiar walk she'd made countless times. She never arrived.
As Taylor made her way through the dark, her phone lit up with texts between her and a friend; they were ordinary, happy messages about the night ahead. And then, one message changed everything. Taylor wrote that she thought she was "being creeped" - meaning that someone was following her in the dark. It would be the last anyone ever heard from her.
In this episode of True Crime with Kimbyr, we trace the full Taylor Van Diest case: the vibrant young woman she was, the chilling final messages she sent, and the relentless investigation that refused to let her killer stay hidden.

My Halloween Series has begun! The name of these series are chosen by the community every year & I reveal a special intro for each one. Our first case is one that really affected me. What happened to Stephanie, and what her poor family went through, still makes me tear up when I think about it today. Stephanie Parze was a vibrant 25-year-old makeup artist and social media influencer from Freehold Township, known for her warmth, creativity, and fierce love for her family. On the night before Halloween in 2019, Stephanie went out with her mom and relatives for a girls' night, a show featuring a well-known psychic. The family came home together. Stephanie headed to her own place just minutes away. And then… nothing.
When her car and phone were found at the house the next morning, but Stephanie was nowhere to be seen, her family knew immediately that something was horribly wrong, she would never leave without her phone, and never go silent on the people she loved. What followed was an agonizing search that would grip all of New Jersey, as her devoted parents refused to stop until they found her.
In this episode of True Crime with Kimbyr, we trace the full Stephanie Parze case: the bright young woman she was, the chilling night she vanished, and a father's relentless fight to bring his daughter home.
