Akon, the singer and philanthropist, was arrested in November 2025 on a bench warrant in the parking lot of a window tint business. The Grammy-nominated artist, whose legal name is Aliaune Akon Thiam, was driving on a suspended license. Akon told the Chamblee Police officers that he thought his warrant for a failure to appear had been addressed. Karen Young, 38, faces a child endangering charge after police say she allowed a man living with her to whip her 8-year-old, developmentally challenged son with a belt.
