    It is really difficult to know what topical treatment options to consider when dealing with a ruptured tympanum. When a difficult multi-drug resistant Pseudomonas otitis occurs, it is very common to have the tympanum ruptured. So, what do you do? Being cautious and upfront with owners about labeling is important.     When a patient is going through an allergic flare, we focus on making the pet comfortable which is absolutely reasonable! However, we have to think of the prevention of future flares and frustration for that case. It is important for us to adjust our mindset once relief has been established and think of the long-term plan for that pet.
