Episode 67: Pushin' Projects and Pullin' Through with Cupboard of Shame Sam
WHATS UP gamers!!! This time we are coming at you HOT in another crazy episode with two extra mics in the mix. Today we are joined by not only Tyler (@tylerisalrightatpainting), but Sam (@cupboard_of_shame) has come all the way from bloody ol'. It was an absolute treat sitting down with these two to talk about life, love, and wargames. Our main convo today was inspired by a question received by Trent Holbrook on his daily vlog YouTube channel (@trentholbrook). How to generate hobby ideas, start working on those ideas, and follow them through to completion. On top of that we go in about a bunch of other off-topic goodness. Sam talks about his first American burger experience, Gage gives us the play-by-play of his first time playing Space Hulk and 3rd edition 40k. Steve created some amazing Ork Kommandos, and how he balances lore-building with the bashing process. Terry gets just a little way too heated about his disdain for morale saves, and Tyler gives us more insight on how he creates historically accurate army lists. Episode 65: Enjoy Your 1000 Indie Games a Month
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOO, jump in the car, we're going GAMING. Today we are digging a little deeper into good piece of "beef" that Steve got for the "submit your beef" call he put out: How do your measure success in an indie game? I summarized the whole submission here - but there are a LOT of games out there, and there seems to be no end to it. Which ones are winners and which ones are losers, and does it even really matter at all? On top of that Gage went to Chicago to a sick little gig in a cemetery and gives us the play-by-play. Steve tells us about running a Flames of Orion game at a coffee shop and running it as an RPG. Terry painted up 500 pts of Black Templar for 3rd Edition and says Streaking Grime is good (shocker). We talk about how modern companies are seemingly operating, why sometimes products feel they don't have the "weight" they did before, and how potentially indie games could be what is remembered going forward.
