E96: Why Your SIBO Keeps Coming Back (And What Actually Works)

    24/03/2026 | 32min
    Send me a text!
If you’ve been diagnosed with SIBO and feel stuck in the cycle of restrictive diets and endless supplements… this episode is for you.
Many people are told the solution to SIBO is simple: follow the Low-FODMAP diet and take antimicrobials or antibiotics to “kill” the overgrowth. But if that were the full answer, SIBO wouldn’t keep coming back for so many people.
In this episode, I’m joined by Registered Dietitian Katrina Cox, who specializes in IBS, SIBO, and complex digestive issues. Katrina takes a root-cause approach to gut health and helps women move beyond temporary symptom relief to build long-term digestive resilience.
    Together we discuss:
    • What SIBO actually is (and why it’s often misunderstood)
    • Why antibiotics and antimicrobials don’t always solve the problem
    • The most common root causes behind recurring SIBO
    • The truth about the Low-FODMAP diet and why it shouldn’t be followed long-term
    • How restrictive diets can actually worsen gut health
    • Practical steps you can start today to support digestion and gut motility
If you’ve been dealing with bloating, food sensitivities, or recurring SIBO, this conversation will help you understand what’s really going on in your gut, and what actually works to move forward.
You’ll also learn why SIBO isn’t something you have to live with forever.

E95: From Daily Acid Reflux, Vomiting & Bloating to Symptom-Free: A Real Client Gut Health Story

    17/03/2026 | 38min
    Send me a text!
Today’s episode is a first for the podcast! I’m joined by one of my past 1:1 clients, Jennifer, who is sharing her gut health journey and experience inside my 6-month coaching program.
When Jennifer and I started working together, she was dealing with bloating, gas, stomach pain, vomiting episodes, acid reflux, fatigue, and was taking a PPI medication twice a day for GERD. She had also been experiencing unexplained seizure episodes for years.
On top of that, she was running a storefront business, working a part-time job, doing freelance work, and training in martial arts three times per week, which meant she rarely had access to a kitchen during the day.
    In this episode, Jennifer shares:
     • What her symptoms and daily life looked like before we worked together
     • Why she decided to get support despite feeling incredibly busy
     • What surprised her most about the process
     • The improvements she experienced in her digestion, energy, and overall health
     • What life looks like now, months after completing the program
If you’ve ever felt like you’re too busy to work on your gut health, or you’re tired of restrictive diets that don’t work for real life, this episode is for you.
Jennifer also shares about her business, The Hermit’s Path, and where you can connect with her.

E93: Chronic Bloating in High-Achieving Women: The Stress Patterns Keeping Your Digestion Stuck

    03/03/2026 | 39min
    Send me a text!
    You’re eating healthy.
You’re trying to “do all the right things.”
So why are you still bloated by 3pm?
In this episode, we’re diving into one of the most overlooked causes of chronic bloating in women: stress and nervous system dysregulation.
I’m joined by Jodell Jordan and Heather Bull, authors of Run It Like You Own It, to talk about what really happens in the body when you’re constantly rushing, overcommitted, making a million decisions a day, and putting everyone else first.
    We discuss:
Why being late and constantly rushing keeps your body in fight-or-flight
How decision fatigue increases stress (and digestive symptoms)
The hidden connection between people-pleasing and gut issues
Why high-achieving women often struggle with bloating
How sleep, boundaries, and prioritizing yourself calm your nervous system
The truth about “balance” and why there is no finish line
If you’re a busy woman who feels like you’re doing everything “right” but still dealing with bloating, anxiety, or digestive discomfort, this episode will help you understand why food isn’t always the root cause.

E92: Why Bloating Feels Worse After 40 (And What To Do About It)

    24/02/2026 | 32min
    Send me a text!
Why does bloating feel worse after 40... even when you’re eating “healthy”?
If you’ve ever felt 6-months-pregnant by the end of the day, been asked if you’re expecting (when you’re not), or found yourself living in flowy tops and stretchy waistbands… this episode is for you.
In this episode, Certified Gut Health Coach Karlee Close breaks down why bloating often becomes more noticeable in your 40s and beyond, and why it’s rarely just about gluten, dairy, carbs, or eating the “wrong” foods.
    You’ll learn:
Why stress impacts digestion more than food ever will
How skipping meals and blood sugar swings lead to chronic bloating
Why decades of dieting, low-fat trends, and restrictive protocols can weaken digestion
The connection between cortisol, metabolism, and gut function
Simple, sustainable habits that support digestion naturally
If you’ve tried cutting gluten, dairy, sugar, FODMAPs, or entire food groups and you’re still bloated, this episode will help you understand what’s really going on inside your body.
This is your reminder that bloating after 40 is not a personal failure... it’s feedback. And when you learn how digestion actually works, you can finally start supporting your gut instead of fighting it.
Download the Bloat-Free Day Checklist mentioned in this episode to start implementing the exact habits Karlee uses with her clients to reduce bloating without restriction.
